Quality and format notes
MKV containers hold all sorts of audio — commonly AAC, AC3, FLAC or DTS. This page decodes the audio track and encodes MP3; the video is not processed and the file never leaves your device.
Files with several audio tracks convert their first track. Spot-check one result before batch converting an archive, especially with commentary tracks present.

The first audio track in the container. If your file has commentary or alternate tracks, verify the result before processing more files.
Is the MKV file modified?
Never. You get a new, separate MP3; the original video stays exactly as it is on your device.
How large a file can I convert?
Browser memory sets the ceiling — the file buffer tops out just under 2 GiB. Long, high-bitrate rips on low-RAM devices may fail.
