Quality and format notes
WMV files come from old Windows tools, email attachments and download portals. Only the audio stream is decoded — usually WMA — and re-encoded as MP3 that plays anywhere.
DRM-protected WMV files fail to convert, and a few very old WMV variants may not decode in the browser; those need the original Windows software.
Frequently asked questions
Can protected WMV files be converted?
No. DRM-protected files fail, by design. Files you recorded or downloaded without restrictions convert normally.
Is the video processed at all?
No. Only the audio stream is decoded; the WMV stays untouched on your device and no upload happens.
Can I batch-convert old downloads?
Yes. Add the folder's files and convert them in one run. Protected or undecodable files are reported as failures rather than skipped silently.
