Quality and format notes
This conversion keeps the sound and drops the pictures: the audio stream is decoded and encoded as MP3. Useful for lectures, interviews, podcasts and music videos where only listening matters.
Large videos are limited by browser memory rather than a fixed quota — very long files may fail on devices with little RAM. The original video is not modified and no upload happens.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting remove the video from my file?
No. Your original MP4 stays exactly as it is; you get a new, separate MP3 file alongside it.
How large a video can I convert?
Browser memory sets the ceiling — the file buffer tops out just under 2 GiB. Typical videos work fine; multi-hour recordings on low-RAM devices may not.
Which bitrate should I choose?
128 kbps suits speech content; 192–320 kbps suits music videos. Higher bitrates sound better but produce proportionally larger files.
